Thomas Leonidas Yates

Thomas "Tommy" Leonidas Yates, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2025. He was born on June 13, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia, to John William Yates and Mary McCallum-Yates.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Buster, Jim, George, Mary Ellen, June, and Billy.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Sue Humphries-Yates; his son, Michael (Nancy) Yates; two grandchildren, Jacob (Alisha) Yatesand Adam (Kristen) Yates; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Miller Yates.
In his professional life, Tommy was a master plumber for 43 years, a career marked by skill, dedication, and hard work. Later in life, he pursued his love for dogs by becoming a dog show judge. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting a variety of items, including dog statues, miniature bottles, and Beanie Babies. Alongside his beloved wife, Tommy proudly traveled to all 50 states, creating memories that would last a lifetime. In his later years, he found simple joy watching game shows together at home.
A celebration of Thomas' life will be on Saturday, January 17th at Garrett Woods Senior Living Community at 10AM.
