It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Thomasena Goodwin Levine, 73, of Cross, South Carolina, who transitioned on Friday, December 19, 2025, at her residence in Cross, South Carolina. The family will be receiving friends and family at the residence of her daughter, Irma L. Jefferson from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily at 1228 Old Highway #6, Cross, South Carolina. Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and guidelines when visiting the family and funeral home. Masks are recommended, but not required.

Thomasena G. Levine Life Reflections

Thomasena Goodwin Levine, a daughter of the late Benjamin A. Goodwin and Ethel Morton Goodwin was born April 2, 1952. On December 19, 2025, God peacefully called her from her earthly home to her heavenly home. Thomasena was affectionately known as "Tina" to family and friends. Tina was educated in Orangeburg County Schools of Eutawville, SC. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and joined Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Eutawville, SC.

To show her love and devotion to her family, she sacrificed her last year of high school. Like many others, Tina migrated to New York and there she worked as a live-in nanny and housekeeper for a few families. She then became employed at Circle International as a shipper and forklift operator. There she was employed for eleven years before returning to Eutawville, South Carolina.

In 1983, she married Isaac B. Levine Sr. where she later became a member of Jehovah A.M.E. Church, where she served faithfully on the Jehovah A.M.E. Church Senior Choir. Tina also volunteered with love and devotion with the Jehovah A.M.E. Sunbeam Choir, Jehovah A. Junior Choir, Jehovah A.M.E. YPD, and Jehovah A.M.E. Liturgical Praise Dancers. Whether it was to help with fundraisers, transportation to and from meetings, practices, and events. Tina served faithfully behind the scenes she gave of her time selflessly offering praise to God and serving others with a loving heart and a joyful smile.

Tina was employed at a local fishery in Cross South Carolina under the supervision of Mr. Sammie Clark. There she worked seasonal and weekends. Tina later became employed with the janitorial department at Cross High School until her health and longer permitted her to do so.

Tina was proceeded in death by her parents, Benjamin A. Goodwin and Ethel M. Goodwin; a brother, Anthony "Pookie" Samuel Goodwin; sisters, Sarah E.G. President Robinson and Ella Mae M. Green; nephew, Dr. Paul Anthony Bradley Jr.; and a beloved granddaughter, Little Miss Brandi Jha'Mia Jefferson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Juanita Goodwin (Khadiem) Lo of North Charleston, SC; her devoted husband of 42 1/2 years, Isaac Bub Levine Sr. of Cross, SC and from this union she was blessed with two children, Irma (Brant) Jefferson and Shakara Levine both of Cross, SC; Bonnie Fae (Lanier) Cooper, Willamenia Levine, Laura A. (David) Hickman, Philip C. Levine, Alfreddie Levine, and Isaac Bub Levine Jr. all of Florida; siblings, Charles (Barbara) Morton, Benjamin Goodwin Jr. and Joseph H. Goodwin all of Eutawville, SC, Loretta (Joseph) Failey of North Charleston, SC, and Barbara (Paul Sr.) Bradley of Cross, SC; sisters-in-law, Ruth Brown of Cross, SC, Florence "Rainey" Levine of Eutawville, SC, and Elise "Eloise" Grant of Cross, SC. She also leaves to cherish her memories two goddaughters, Francena Goodwin (Kendrick) Williams of St. George, SC and Lavonna Levine of Walterboro, SC. Tina was a proud grandmother of six granddaughters two grandsons, two great granddaughters, and two great grandsons. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure her love, strength, and wisdom.

TINA WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED FOR HER DEDICATION HER FAMILY, HER CARING SPIRIT, AND LOVE SHE POURED INTO EVERYONE SHE ENCOUNTERED. HER LEGACY WILL CONTINUE TO LIVE ON THROUGH ALL WHO ARE BLESSED TO KNOW AND LOVE HER.
