Thurman Edward Sanford

Thurman Edward Sanford, 86, of Center, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 21, 1937, in Center, Texas, to the late Arlon Otis Sanford and Alice Virginia (Cain) Sanford.
Honoring his wishes to be cremated, the family plans to spread his ashes in the Piney woods of East Texas.
Thurman was born and raised in Shelby County. He joined the workforce and moved to the Fort Worth area. He met the love of his life, Oleta, and the two were married in 1961. They raised three wonderful children. After retiring from Tarrant County Pct. 3., they returned to Shelby County and have made their home here. They have spent over 62 years together. Thurman loved the Pineywoods. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, raising farm animals, and just about anything outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great grands, and great-great grands. His love will be missed by many.
