It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Timothy Joseph Browning in Zionsville, IN on June 30th, 2024.

Tim was born in Urbana, IL on May 9th, 1962 to Mary Taylor Ferrando and Don S. Browning. The family later moved along with his brother Chris to Springfield, IL where he enjoyed swimming in the lake and playing with his dogs.

He attended University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, joining the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and graduating in 1984 with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering.

Tim met the love of his life Robin while studying at U of I. Excited to start their new life together, they were married on June 13th, 1987 in Herrin, IL.

Tim and Robin were excited to start a family and their children meant the world to them. Taylor Joseph Browning was born on August 30th, 1990 in Portland, OR. Alexandra Nicole Browning was born on April 28th, 1993 in Kirkland, WA. Maxwell James Browning was born on April 23rd, 1996 in Indianapolis, IN.

He was also extremely passionate about animals, specifically the many dogs he cared for over the years. From his childhood dogs, his college best friend Big Nick, Jack the Dog once the family moved to Zionsville, his lazy and loyal companion Simon, and the energetic and high-jumping girl Luna. He was never far from a furry four legged friend.

Upon entering the professional world Tim quickly developed a passion for the printing industry, spending time at RR Donnelley and Sons, World Color, and GAC before eventually starting his own company in 2000. Print Resources (now Tactive) was founded in Indianapolis, IN with his business partner Kurt Ellinger and has grown more than either ever thought possible, having provided jobs for over 100 people in the community throughout the years.

It was nearly impossible to know Tim without hearing about his deep love for racing and the Indianapolis 500. He always maintained it was his favorite day of the year, and the entire family grew to love it with him. There were several race day traditions, starting the day off with an exuberant “Good Morning Race Fans!” as the rest of the family showed up at the crack of dawn to head to the track.

Tim will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor, deep love he had for his family, and the way he always made every situation a little more lighthearted, even when they were difficult. We could not have asked for a better husband and father, and we will miss him every day.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Ferrando; wife, Robin Browning; children, Taylor (Sarah) Browning, Maxwell “Max” (Jessica Kolanowski) Browning; and Alexandra “Alex” (J. Andrew Moore) Browning; and aunt Sarah (David) Butler. Tim was preceded in death by his father, Don S. Browning; and brother, Christopher Lynn Browning.

The family is hosting a gathering to celebrate Tim’s life at the Foyt Wine Vault, 1182 N Main St, Speedway, IN 46224 on Saturday July 6th from 1 - 3:30 PM. Friends and family will be sharing short stories and memories beginning at 2 PM. Please feel free to come and go as you wish.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Humane Society of Boone County.
