Timothy John Efird, 70, of Stanfield, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Tim was born September 2, 1955, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, to Myrtis Janet Efird and the late Everette Lane Efird.
A devoted husband, father, and son, Tim loved his family above all else. He was truly at home on the farm and along the riverbanks he cherished. He found great joy in the hum of a sawmill, the rhythm of growing crops, and the satisfaction of a day’s work well done. He had a special love for John Deere tractors — a familiar sight as he worked the land with purpose and pride. Hardworking by nature, Tim spent his life providing for those he loved. His good sense of humor made every day a little brighter for those around him. For his family, he was the steady foundation they could always count on.
Tim’s faith was central to who he was. His favorite scripture, John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” — guided him throughout his life and brings his family comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Love’s Grove Methodist Church. A funeral service to honor Tim’s life will follow at 4:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Patrick Ledford.
Survivors include his loving wife, Denita Efird of Stanfield, NC; his mother, Myrtis Janet Efird of Stanfield, NC; his sisters, Cathy Hatley and Janet Huneycutt; and his children: Julie (Daniel) Clay, Hannah (Keith) Yow, Sarah (Jeremy) Taylor, and John (Savanna) Efird. He was a proud Pawpaw to his grandchildren: Anna Grace, Olivia, and Luke Clay; Judson and Carter Yow; Elizabeth Taylor; and Sadie, Caroline, and Hudson Efird. He will also be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends.
Memorials may be made to Love’s Grove Methodist Church, P. O. Box 276, Stanfield, NC 28163.
