Tim Richards Obituary

Tim was born on July 5, 1968, in Harlan, Iowa to Jack and Mary Kelgor Richards. He was raised in Grinnell and graduated with the Class of 1987 from Grinnell High School. Following his education he enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corp and served in Desert Storm. He also served his country in various areas of the Middle East and the Far East. After his military service he returned to Grinnell and operated the Down Under Bar and worked in the auto service and mechanics business. Recently he owned and operated the Kellogg Service Company. Tim was a member of the Grinnell Eagles Club and he was a reserve officer for the Jasper County Sheriff's Department and the Jasper County Drug Task Force. He enjoyed his job, golf, hunting, water activities and sprint and stock car races. Survivors include his fianc'e, Tawny Monteleone of Grinnell; his father and step mother, Jack and Marge Richards of Grinnell; his mother and step father, Mary and Maynard Durr of Grinnell; and one brother, Tom (Tanya) Richards of Johnston.







Memorials may be directed to the Tim Richards Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.
