Tim Stuckey, 72, of Hutsonville, IL, passed away on December 2, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. Though his time here has ended, the joy, laughter, and love he shared will echo for generations to come.
Born in Palestine, IL, on September 14, 1952, to Lee Stuckey & Patricia (Henry-Stuckey) Hanna, Tim grew up in Robinson, where he quickly showed a knack for life's simple yet profound pleasures. Whether it was catching balls for older kids at just seven years old or being the starting catcher on the 1964 state championship Little League baseball team, Tim brought his A-game to every field he stepped onto. However, Tim's zest for life wasn't limited to sports. In high school, he took to the stage as the Hobbit in the school play, adding a touch of whimsy to his already colorful life. A proud 1970 graduate of Robinson High School, Tim would soon marry Denise Keller and began working at a lumber yard in Decatur, IL, where they welcomed their daughter, Kimbra. Later, Tim married Toni Mann, with whom he had a son, Zachary.
Tim found his professional stride at the coal yard of the CIPS power plant before moving into maintenance and ultimately retiring as a welder with Ameren at the age of 58. Never one to sit idle, Tim literally built the house he called home in the mid-90s-a testament to his hard work and skill. For the past 30 years, Tim shared his life with Mindy (McKinley) Eveland, whom he married on May 8, 2021. Together, they danced through life-sometimes literally, as anyone who saw them cut a rug could attest!
Tim's love for his family was matched only by his passion for the great outdoors. He hunted, fished, and spent countless days at the river, net fishing on the Wabash. As a young man, he hunted and trapped to provide for Christmas, turning his efforts into gifts that warmed hearts. A lover of card games, Tim's strategy of nonstop chatter ensured no one could beat him! His humor, playfulness, and knack for picking on you just the right amount made him unforgettable. An animal lover through and through, Tim's home was often graced by four-legged friends, from loyal German Shepherds to a roadside cat who surprised the family by multiplying into four! His kindness extended to every living creature, and kids adored him-a testament to his character.
A lifelong Cardinals fan, Tim attended many games and rarely missed a chance to root for his team. Over a Busch beer (or a few), he shared many treasured memories and an ever-present smile that revealed how much he cared. We, ourselves, will smile every time we reflect on the goodness of his life. His memory will forever be cherished by those he leaves behind: his wife, Mindy Stuckey (Hutsonville, IL); his children, Zachary & wife Ashtin Stuckey (Marshall, IL) and Kimbra Cunningham (Evansville, IN); his stepdaughter, Ashley Eveland (Bedford, IN); his brother & sister-in-law, Rick & Debbie Stuckey (Pella, IA); his sister & brother-in-law, Amy & Michael Monan (Hutsonville, IL); and a legacy of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry his love forward. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Tim's wishes, he will be cremated, and no public service will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson.
