With profound love and heavy hearts, the family of Timothy James Buchholz, announces his peaceful passing the evening of November 18, 2025. Tim was born on December 18, 1953, in Valley City, North Dakota, to Fred and Tillie Buchholz of Fingal. From the beginning, Tim was shaped by the values that defined his life, hard work, loyalty, humility, and steadfast devotion to those he loved.

For 50 remarkable years, Tim shared his life with his wife and best friend, Peg (Johnson) Buchholz of Fingal, North Dakota. Married June 28, 1975, the story they wrote together was one of partnership, perseverance, and deep, abiding love; one that strengthened them through every joy and every hardship.

Tim was a proud father to Kelly (Kris) Spenningsby of Duluth, Minnesota, and Jason (Sandra) Buchholz of Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. He was also an honorary father of Jeanette (Lars) Thomsen of Stockholm, Sweden. Becoming a grandfather, seven times over, was one of the greatest gifts of his life. Taking every opportunity to show up, cheer, and encourage; whether it was sports, school, hobbies, or celebrations, Tim made sure his grandchildren knew he was in their corner.

A veteran of the North Dakota National Guard, Tim carried a profound sense of duty and pride throughout his life. He attended NDSCS of Wahpeton, started his career at Apolo Sprinkler, later dedicated many hardworking years to Nova Sprinkler Fitters, and finished his career as a business agent for Local 669 where he served as a union representative who advocated fiercely and compassionately for his coworkers. His commitment to fairness, camaraderie, and integrity earned him deep respect among his peers.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Tillie, his brother, Gene Buchholz, parents-in-law, Luverne and Clifford Johnson, sister-in-law, Alvina Buchholz, and brothers-in-law, Bob Olauson, and Don and Bill Johnson, nephews, Marvin Olauson and Tim Johnson, and niece Michelle Olauson. Their memories guided him, and he spoke of them often with reverence and love.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50-years, Peg, his children Kelly and Jason, and his seven cherished grandchildren, Aidan, Henrik, Ty, Lexi, Beau, Paul, and Emmie, who were the light of his later years. Also survived by his siblings Judy (Roger) Sudnikovich, Kenny Buchholz, Stan (Marcia) Buchholz, Sylvia (Perry) Schlagel, Jeff (Julie) Buchholz, and sister-in-law Karen Buchholz, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

For Tim, some of life's greatest joys unfolded in the quiet beauty of the outdoors. He loved life at the lake, traveling, hunting, and fishing; traditions he passed down to his children and grandchildren. Those early mornings on the lake or long days in the fields searching for pheasants, waterfowl, or a prized buck, became treasured memories; stories told and retold, full of laughter, pride, and the unmistakable bond Tim built through time spent together.

Though Tim faced more than his share of health challenges, his resilience was extraordinary. He fought every setback with courage, humor, and grit. No matter what he endured, his heart always returned to one truth: his family was everything. Their visits, calls, milestones, and simple everyday moments gave him purpose and strength.

Tim's life was one of quiet impact, steady love, and unwavering dedication. His absence will be felt in countless ways, but his legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the stories he shared, and the generations he shaped with his steadfast love.

May we honor Tim by living as he did, with generosity, resilience, and devotion to family. And may we find comfort knowing he is now reunited with those who went before him, resting in peace and watching over all he loved so deeply.

Forever loved. Forever remembered.
