Timothy Ray Castle Sr.

Timothy Ray Castle, Sr, 62, of Freeport, IL, passed away on May 31, 2024. He was born on November 15, 1961 in Freeport, IL, to Delmar Castle and Betty Baker (Kamps). Tim was a student at Freeport Sr. High School. His boyhood hobbies, which became his lifelong joys, were fishing, boating, playing guitar and raising animals, most of all his dogs.
He soon found his lifelong love and partner in crime, Vicki Aden (Pieper). Together, they became their own version of a real-life Brady Bunch, raising all 7 of their children together as one BIG family. Around this time, Tim affectionately became known as "Poppa Tim" among his children's countless friends over the years, as he was a fatherly presence to all of them. Poppa Tim was always a force to be reckoned with keeping the peace and in a home bustling with kids and chaos, while balancing that with lots of love and guidance.
Besides his family, He had two other loves in his life. Those being the river and his beloved dogs. If he wasn't working, he could always be found at the river, drinking Old Milwaukee light and jamming to his favorite tunes with his dogs by his side. He passionately loved fishing, boating and music. At his cabin by the river, he was always hosting get-togethers and having fires. He even had an annual fish fry that became an important tradition for all his family and friends.
Tim was an extremely hard worker all throughout his life. His jobs were always related to construction and maintenance. The term "Jack of all trades" fits him perfectly. He could fix or build anything, literally. Poppa Tim was an amazing man, friend and father to all. His passing is a tragic loss for all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and mourned for the rest of all our lives.
Survivors include his love Vicki Aden (Pieper), stepmom Kathy Castle, daughters: Corinne Castle, Staci Aden (John), and Nikki Aden (Chris & Taylor), sons: Timothy Castle, Jr, (Shannon) Anthony Castle (Megan), Michael Lloyd (Jen & Macie), and Chad Lloyd (Kayla); grandkids: Alec Wirtzberger, Amariyah Castle, Rylee Castle, Conner Castle, Keller Castle, Jaydin Vautsmeier (Serenity), Jered Vautsmeier, Jasmine Lloyd (Andrew), Abby Lloyd (Josh), and Gabriella Niesman; great-grandkids: Harper & Hazel Strohecker, Legend & Legacy Vautsmeier, and countless nieces and nephews, sisters: Sharon Barthel (Tony), Christina and Cynthia Castle; and brother Jeff Castle (Larae) and his beloved dogs: Rocky & Bear.
He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar Castle and Betty Baker (Estile Baker), and sister Vicki (Richie Anderson).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 8, 2024 at 1 PM, with visitation from 11 AM until time of service, at the Schwarz Park Blvd Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd in Freeport, IL, with Pastor Bob Lindquist officiating.
A luncheon will follow at Benchwarmer's.
