DYER CHAPEL-Timothy James Cronk, affectionately known as Timmy, was born on April 12, 1962, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He passed away peacefully at his home in Cookeville on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Timmy attended Upperman High School. He was a man who embraced life with enthusiasm and an unwavering spirit. He had a profound passion for fishing, which brought him solace and joy. His love for NASCAR and the Dallas Cowboys also defined many of his afternoons spent cheering passionately alongside friends and family. In quieter moments, he found great enjoyment watching classic television, particularly the iconic series Gunsmoke and various westerns that captured his imagination.
He is survived by his brother, Jimmy (Crystal) Cronk of Gainesboro, Tennessee, and his sisters, Tammy (Roy) King and Rhonda (Jerry) Peek, both of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews. Timmy's family was a source of strength and happiness in his life, and he treasured the bonds they shared.
Timmy was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Marlin Cronk and Shirley Gwendolyn Herron Cronk. They instilled in him the values of kindness and resilience that he carried throughout his life. He was also mourned by the memory of his devoted wife, Elizabeth (Beth) Barnes Cronk, who passed away on August 24, 2019. The love they shared remains a testament to a beautiful partnership that touched the lives of all who knew them.
As we remember Timothy James Cronk, we celebrate a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and inspiration for all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of family and friends.
