Timothy M. Diskin

57, passed away on July 24, 2025, surrounded by love at his home in Wakefield, RI and the world lost joy on that day. Tim battled cancer valiantly for over six years and although his body grew weary, he never surrendered his spirit, his wit, or his charm.

Timmy was born and raised in the Minooka section of Scranton, PA. He was the son of the late Patrick Joseph Diskin, Sr and Margaret Williams Diskin. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Frank and her son, Dalton Briggs, of Wakefield. He was the brother of Rene Shenosky and the late D’Anne McLane, Patrick (Packy) Joseph Diskin, Jr., and William N. Diskin. He leaves behind his brother in-law Paul Shenosky and sister-in-law Frances Diskin. He was the adored uncle of Ellen Lane, Patrick Shenosky, Tracy Diskin Doherty, Patrick Diskin, Joseph Diskin and Michael Diskin. Tim is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews who he loved like his own. Last but not least is his very best puppy Pebbles who was by his side until the end.

In 1985, Tim Moved to Rhode Island and a new life was born. He loved everything about his new home but the years showed it was the people that shaped this chapter. He achieved great success professionally, most recently working as an Account Executive for the Amynta corporation. His work required extensive travel and he loved every mile and every person he met along the way. Tim was sent on each trip partly because of his business acumen but mostly because of his rare ability to genuinely connect with people and places. No one was immune from his charisma. Timmy was the center of every room he was in and the center of the world for those of us who were lucky enough to know him.

Tim is also survived by “The Boys”. These men were not just friends, they were truly family. Together there was golf, there was Bonnet Shores Beach Club, and above all, there was Pelly’s. The happy times spent with the boys were among the greatest of his days. When life took an unexpected turn, his friends came with him. In the darkest of days, they showed up, held him up and never stopped loving him.

Of all of Tim’s qualities, he was a loyal soul. He was loyal to his family, his friends, his Irish heritage and even his sports teams. He remained the only diehard New York Yankees fan in New England and the only Miami Dolphins fan across several state lines. If you watched a college football or basketball game with him,, Notre Dame specifically, you would be sure he had relatives that were on the field. Every moment spent with Timmy was colorful.

Although his life was spent in Rhode Island, Scranton was always home. He never missed a family occasion, and his arrival was always met with great anticipation and shouts of “Uncle Timmy!”. His favorite trips home were for the holidays, Christmas especially. In the month preceding, there would be talk of cherished Christmas’s past and talk of years to come. He was the keeper of Christmas traditions. Not so much the midnight toy assembly jobs but he was always first to volunteer for the Christmas eve “ice run” to McMullen’s bar. He must have gotten lost each year because although the trip is only a few blocks away, this annual excursion took him hours. McMullen’s did not sell ice. In the days that will follow our loss, please keep Timmy’s memory alive by buying a drink for your neighbor, over tipping your server and being on time for your reservations.

There will never be another Tim Diskin. He was the greatest gift of all.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 31st, at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Narragansett. VISITING HOURS: Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. Burial is kindly omitted.
