Timothy Hogan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lesko Funeral Home, Preplanning, and Cremation Services - Fairfield on Feb. 12, 2026.
Timothy ("Tim") Aloysius Hogan, Jr., was born on June 11, 1940, in Washington, D.C., to Chief Warrant Officer Timothy Aloysius Hogan, Sr. (U.S. Army) and Mary Lenore Flaherty Hogan. He and his sister Joan and brother Robert grew up across the country on several military bases, and with family in New Jersey. He met his beloved wife, Eileen R. Hogan, in 1969, and they were married on the 4th of July, 1970, in Bronxville, New York.

He graduated from Mount St. Joseph Semi-Military Academy, Oratory Preparatory School, and Seton Hall University, and also attended Stevens Institute of Technology. Trained as an industrial engineer, Tim began his career grounded in operational discipline and analytical rigor-skills that became hallmarks of his executive leadership style.

After joining Arthur Andersen, LLP, a pivotal assignment at Bristol-Myers Squibb redirected his professional path and launched what would become a remarkable and influential career in the global cosmetic, fashion, and home fashion industries. Over the decades that followed, Tim held presidencies and senior executive leadership positions at some of the most recognized names in beauty and consumer brands worldwide.

As President of Charles of the Ritz Group, Ltd., he oversaw and guided internationally renowned brands including Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Paco Rabanne, Alexandra de Markoff, and Jean Naté. He later led and strengthened organizations, including President of Dawson Home Fashions (Dawson International PLC), Del Laboratories, Inc. (Sally Hansen), and as President of L'Oréal's Dermablend division, among others. His strategic vision consistently revitalized brands, improved operations, and positioned companies for growth in highly competitive markets. His insights were frequently sought by industry publications such as Women's Wear Daily and The Wall Street Journal, reflecting his standing as a respected voice in the field. His friendships and partnerships in these industries made him extremely happy and fulfilled his days, with not just work, but friendship. Work and mentorship were his favorite hobbies and joy.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tim was committed to service. He served on the boards of several philanthropic, educational, and charitable organizations, including Fairfield College Preparatory School. He was an ardent supporter of the Seton Hall Pirates Men's Basketball Team and never missed a game.

Tim enjoyed fishing, hunting and shooting sports, reading, and travel. Although his career took him around the globe, his favorite journeys were those shared with his family. There was always a story to tell. His most cherished role, however, was that of husband and father. Whether traveling, relaxing on the beach with his wife Eileen, or enthusiastically supporting his son Sean at equestrian and curling events, Tim was always present-and always cheering.

Tim was preceded in death by his son Arthur, his parents, his sister (Joan Adrian) and brother and sister-in-law (Robert and Barbara Hogan), and other family members. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Eileen Hogan, of Fairfield, Connecticut, and his son Sean Hogan of Fairfield, Connecticut and numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, including his goddaughter Nancy Vehr (Tony Reyes), Edward Adrian (Judit Raquel), and Sandra Duda (David).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, Connecticut, with a Memorial Mass to be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Luke Catholic Church, Westport, Connecticut. Burial will be private.

We met Tim and Eileen at the Montauk Downs pool one summer. It was the start of a long and warm friendship. It became a ritual every summer to meet at the pool to enjoy good conversation and a few laughs. We felt very fortunate to have met them because they were so down to earth and we really enjoyed their company. Tim was the epitome of a gentleman and was very attentive to his Eileen. He had a great sense of humor. We will fondly remember our time spent with him and Eileen. Our sincerest condolences to Eileen and Sean. Rest in peace Tim. You will be sorely missed.
With Deepest Sympathy,
