Timothy Wayne Hughes, 47, born on May 7, 1977, in Chanute, Kansas, to Jerry Hughes and Sandra Boone-Hughes-Patton, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2025, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
He was a beloved husband, father, son, and grandpa, whose warm spirit and unwavering dedication to his family will be remembered.
A proud graduate of Chanute Senior High School, Tim furthered his education at Neosho County Community College. He built a successful career as an Electronics Technician at Kustom Signals in Chanute for 21 years, where his expertise and passion for electronics shone through in his work and many hobbies.
Tim was united in marriage to Abby Elizabeth Herron on June 11, 2009, in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Tim was particularly known for being a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with his wife, Abby, and their children: Brant (Sydney) Hughes, Jenna Hughes, and Quinn Hughes, parents, Jerry and Sandy, and brothers Jason Hughes and Travis Chandler, all of Chanute, Kansas.
His love for cars, music, motorcycles, and electronics reflected his vibrant personality and zest for life, which he shared generously with those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Abby, and his children, who will carry forth his legacy of love and laughter. He is also survived by his father, Jerry Hughes, and his mother, Sandra Boone-Hughes-Patton, as well as his brothers, Jason Hughes of Chanute and Travis Chandler, his mother and father-in-law, Russell and Becky Herron of Gardner, KS, as well as his brother and sister-in-laws, Lesley and Dusty Ward, Baldwin City, KS, and Mindy Herron and Norman Curtis, Chanute, KS. Tim took great joy in his role as a grandparent to his grandchild, Astrid Monroe Hughes, whose bright future he looked forward to witnessing.
Tim is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Evelyn Boone, and Shobe and Ruby Hughes, his uncles, Gene Hughes and Ed Hughes. His loss leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
