Timothy Wynn McDowell, 86, was born on May 20, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frances and Thomas J. McDowell. He grew up in Lakewood, Ohio, alongside his brother, James McDowell, who preceded him in death.
Tim attended Grand River Academy, and graduated from Lakewood High School. After high school, he became a proud member of the National Guard Medical Battalion 212. He later became a service manager at RESS Realty, where he worked for his father. While there, he met his wife, Shirley Ann McDowell (nee Gerlack), who he married in 1960, and they enjoyed 29 years of marriage until her passing in 1989.
Tim loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed camping, playing golf and dancing, especially with his wife, Shirley. He was also a huge Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State fan. Tim was a member of Grace Luther Church for many years. He also attended the McGregor Pace Activity Center in Old Brooklyn, the VFW, and the Elyria Moose Lodge. Tim loved to share his great sense of humor, especially when telling stories about his past. He really knew how to enjoy life, from having his Salisbury Steak every Tuesday to spending time with his family, he truly made the most out of him time here.
Tim passed away on April 14, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Shirley McDowell. Cherished father of Thomas F. (Laura) McDowell, Kevin M. (Shirley) McDowell, and Kenneth C. (Carol) McDowell. Loving grandfather of Jaedyn, Barron, Scarlett, Kevin, and Madeline. Great-grandfather of Wyatt. He will be greatly and sadly missed by his sons, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren.
