Timothy Joseph McGrath was 65 years old when he passed away suddenly on January 6, 2026. Born in New York City, Timothy was a lifelong resident of New Milford. A decorated Navy veteran, Timothy proudly served in the US Navy from 1978 to 1984. He was very dedicated to his work in elevator construction as a member of IUEC Local 1 for many years before retiring in 2015. Timothy was a longtime member of the New Milford Athletic Club.

Timothy was predeceased by his beloved late wife Catherine P. (nee Mullins) McGrath. He was the loving brother of Michele McGrath Murray and the late Kevin McGrath. He is also survived by his sister in law Dana McGrath. Timothy is the cherished uncle of Joseph Michael McGrath, Jessica Michele McGrath and Jaclyn Michele Murray he was also survived by his great nieces Charlotte McGrath and twins Madelyn Zavodnick and Ruby Zavodnick. Timothy leaves behind his best friend Jerome Connelly.

A funeral mass will be celebrated in his memory on Monday, January 26th at 11 am in St. Joseph's RC Church, Oradell. A repast will follow at the New Milford Athletic Club

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
