Timothy Allen "Tim" Moder, 76, lifelong Superior resident passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by love at Benedictine Health Center in Duluth, MN after braving 17 years with Frontotemporal Dementia. Tim was born in Superior on November 28, 1948, to Merwin and Marjorie (Haworth) Moder. Tim attended East High School and graduated from Superior Senior High in 1966. Continuing his education at UWS until enlisting in the United States Navy where her served honorably, which included an unexpected year in Vietnam. Tim married Kathleen Sweeney on February 26, 1968, at Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior and they recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. For his lifetime work he chose to be a carpenter, completing the four-year apprentice program and working for himself and others including Superior Quality Builders and Ray Dahl Construction until he retired in 2007. He remained a member of the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters. Tim's life's priorities included God, family and serving others as seen in his participation with volunteering in church and spiritual activities, community projects and all family functions integrating grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and any youth in need. As an Eagle Scout and a member of the Bad River Lake Superior Chippewa Tribe, he shared his love of hunting, fishing, gardening, sports, serving as a youth coach for various little league teams, volunteering in the food share program, church events and functions. He faced adversities when he went through cancer and still managed to start 7 gardens and participated in the Farmers Market that helped the community. He loved his community and would often be seen trudging through the streets after the latest snowstorm to help anyone in need. He was there when you needed him. Always. He was an example of what it meant to be human. Tim is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Timothy, and daughter, Erin (Thomas) Potter; grandchildren, Trever, John, Zach, Emerson, Emily, Ruth, Isaac, and Zoey Moder, and Isaiah and Natalie Potter; great-grands, Stori, Royal and Fox as well as honorary family, Chelsea, Yemaya, and Jeremiah; his brothers, Michael (Jane), Bruce (Cheryl); brothers-in-law, Brian (Sandy), John (Julie), and Kyle (Val) Sweeney, and Craig Plouff; sisters-in-law, Valerie Sweeney, Claudia (Tom) Dresel, as well as 26 wonderful nieces and nephews.
