Terri Lynn Moder, lovingly known as Mimi and the Rabbit Barn Lady, passed away on the morning of October 3, 2025, at the age of 69. She was surrounded by her family in her final moments.
Born on January 15, 1956, in Zanesville, Ohio, Terri was the daughter of Oats and Ruth (Embree) Johns. On June 19, 1982, she married the love of her life, Bruce Moder, and together they shared 43 wonderful years of marriage.
Terri was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Bruce; her son Benjamin (Mel) Moder; her daughter Bethany (Juston) Stewart; and her beloved grandchildren Alden Mathias, Joshua Moder, Kyle Moder, Wyatt Moder, Odin Stewart, Avery Moder, and Ethan Moder. She also cherished her bonus grandchildren Dylan McKenzie, Justin VanBuskirk, Evan McKenzie, Starling Stewart, Makhaylah Hatfield, and Parker Snyder. Terri is also survived by her mother-in-law, Joan E. Moder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oats and Ruth Johns; her father-in-law, Donald Moder; and bonus child, Jake Ropp.
Terri's life was marked by music, adventure, and community. As a member of the All Ohio State Youth Choir, she toured Europe and proudly marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. She spent many years involved in 4-H, first as a member parading through Plain City, Ohio, with her horse Domino, and later as the long-time advisor of the Originals 4-H Club. Her dedication to the rabbit program earned her the affectionate nickname Rabbit Barn Lady.
Terri loved camping, traveling, and being the family's "navigator" on countless adventures. She had a gift for making people feel like family and was known for her warmth, fun spirit, and the love she poured into her role as Mimi. Her grandchildren will remember her as an amazing, playful, and caring presence in their lives.
Terri's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bruce remembers Terri as the love of his life, his partner in every adventure, and the heart of their family. Her laughter, guidance, and love will remain with him forever.
