It has been a horrific year in which I lost my oldest friend with whom we shared innumerable adventures since we were only 4 years old (Tim) and then in January lost my wife to whom I had been married for 51 1/2 years. Our families were each there for one another through these difficult times, but our bereavement continues unabated despite some passage of time. I will never forget Timothy or Joann, and know that Debbie feels the same.

Tim and I first met when we moved across the alley from his home in Oak Park. We were both 4 1/2 years old. I have not had a friend for more than the 69 years that followed during which we went to morning kindergarten class at Whittier School, built snowmen, played basketball and stickball in the alley between our homes, played the board game Risk for endless hours during all-nighters with other friends in Tim's basement, went to Cubs Scouts, attended dance classes, and ultimately blended our families as we attended Cubs games and had theater tickets at Steppenwolf with our wives for years. Our friendship was very strong, as Tim and I were both fond of hosting Whittier school reunions and attending lunches with our many friends from Whittier Grade School and OPRF High School, so Tim and I frequently planned these many events together. We met monthly to celebrate our birthdays, play tennis, and ultimately swim. For years, we made annual journeys to Captiva Island in Florida with Joel Brosk and Paul Magida to swim, play tennis, ride bikes, play golf and drink. Tim was not that much of a drinker, but he excelled in being a good, loyal and reliable friend. There is a hole in my heart as I write this, but his memory and our friendship will remain a blessing until I join him in eternity. My sincerest love and condolences to Tim's surviving family.

Tim was one of my best buddies growing up in OakPark,ILL. Our family moved away before graduating Whittier elementary school. All these years later I have nothing but wonderful memories of Tim. You were a swell guy Tim! God Bless, your friend.
