Timothy Francis Murphy Jr.

Timothy Murphy Jr., age 70, of Cottage Grove, MN passed away on September 13, 2024.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Friday, September 27, 2024 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 8694 80th St. S.; Cottage Grove, MN with a visitation an hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in St. Paul Park, MN.

Timothy was born on June 25, 1954 in Montclair, New Jersey to parents Timothy Sr. and Rita Murphy. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep School in West Orange, New Jersey. Timothy became a master plumber and worked in plumbing but expanded into various positions in the construction industry through the early years of his career. In 1993, he began working for Harris Company and eventually moved to the Minneapolis, MN area a few years later. In 2002, he started his own business called Paramount Associates, working the majority of his career as a Construction Management Consultant. 

Timothy was an avid reader, he enjoyed movies, playing video games and keeping up with the latest season of sports. He was a great story teller unafraid of embellishing any story. It was a joy to be around his wonderful sense of humor and relaxed demeanor. Timothy had a huge heart and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

Timothy is survived by his sister Patricia (Barry) Brinkman; nieces and nephews Nicole, Larry, Bethany, Chrissy, and Michael. He is preceded in death by parents Timothy Sr. and Rita Murphy and sister Susan Murphy. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude’s or Boys Town.
