Timothy Herman Neu, born March 22, 1965, in Sidney, Montana, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Fairview, Montana, surrounded by his children in his home. He was 60 years old.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Laura Williams (Christian), Sarah Neu, Joshua Neu (Stephanie), Connor C. (Leigha), Bryce Neu, and Thomas Neu (Whitney); his siblings: Mark Neu (Shiela), Julie Neu, and Paul Neu; and all those whose lives were inspired by his perseverance and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Leon Neu and Bonnie Jean Neu.
Tim's life was marked by resilience, determination, and a deep commitment to his family and community. After graduating from Dickinson State University in 1991 with a Bachelor's degree in Business, he began a career that would span multiple industries and states. In 1994, he took on the role of manager at American General Finance in Ocala, Florida, where he worked until 2002. That same year, he founded American Mortgage Group, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and drive for success.
In 2009, Tim returned to Montana to work alongside his brother Mark at W.L. Neu Construction. His return home marked not only a professional shift but also a reconnection with his roots and family. In 2014, Tim took on a new venture by purchasing the Fairview Supervalu grocery store. Under his leadership, the store underwent extensive renovations and flourished into a thriving local business-another testament to his vision and dedication.
Tim faced one of life's greatest challenges with extraordinary courage. Diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in November 2017; he refused to accept the statistics. Tim endured numerous treatments over nearly eight years: sixteen rounds of chemotherapy and fifteen rounds of radiation as well as undergoing Whipple surgery in December 2019. Despite facing every complication imaginable during recovery, Tim persevered battling one of the most aggressive cancers with a very low survival rate and secured his legacy. He was told by medical professionals that he is 1 in a million survivors in his situation.
His battle continued through multiple recurrences-in September 2022 cancer metastasized to the lungs, September 2024, and again in March 2025 when the cancer metastasized to his bones. Each time brought more treatments-chemotherapy, radiation, ablations-but Tim met each challenge with unwavering strength.
Every day Tim followed a devotional and we would often randomly walk into his home with him in constant prayer. Tim was always giving to the community of Fairview and the local churches. Though he was battling himself, Tim was used by God to minister to other people battling the same disease. Giving them advice, hope, and sharing the gospel. He always held on to the book of Job, where Job faced great suffering, he remained faithful and persevered through it. Only to receive a double portion. Tim had these values and is now eternally rewarded for it.
May Timothy Herman Neu's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as an enduring reminder of strength in the face of adversity.
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose." ROMANS 8:28
