Timothy O'Grady Obituary

Timothy Robert O'Grady, Sr.
Timothy Robert O'Grady, Sr., 86, passed away August 5, 2025, at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born January 24, 1939 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of David and Cecelia (Bullis) O'Grady. A. U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he had worked as a plastics mold maker for the Dial Corporation before retiring. On September 10, 1960 in Dearborn, MI, he married Shirley Byers. She died September 10, 2014. Surviving are two sons, Timothy (Leah) O'Grady, II, David O'Grady all of Wood River; two daughters, Deborah (Dennis) McKey of Branson, MO, Cheryl (Eugene) Jones of Williamsburg, VA; six grandchildren, Todd (Rachel) O'Grady, Jonathan O'Grady, Aaron (Nicki) Jones, Allison (Chuck) Weid, Jennifer (Jim) Stone, and Kristi (Dwayne) Hall; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, William O'Grady of Brighton, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three brothers, James,
David, and John O'Grady; and two sisters, Jeanne Lerchin and Patricia Brooks. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 2 pm until time of service at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 16 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Charles Stratton will officiate. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
