Timothy Joseph (TJ) Parr, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Alpharetta, Georgia, at the age of 64, following a long illness.
He was born on October 7, 1960, at Kindley Air Force Base in Bermuda. A 1978 graduate of South Cobb High School in Austell, GA, TJ went on to serve his country with pride and dedication in the United States Army. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and later at Fort Benning, Georgia, until his honorable discharge in 1982.
Following his military service, TJ trained in Information Technology and worked in the Metro Atlanta area.
TJ was preceded in death by his parents, Louis W. Parr and Rita M. Parr of Austell, GA; his brothers Daniel (Dan) Parr of Douglasville, GA, and Gregory (Greg) Parr of Tipton, IN; and his sister Christina Parr of Sacramento, CA.
He is survived by his loving siblings: Walter Parr of Ashburn, VA; Charles Parr of Douglasville, GA; Katherine (Kathy) Lanham of West Union, SC; Mary Parr of Stone Mountain, GA; Ramona (Monie) Butler of Dallas, GA; Dr. Thomas Parr of Shelbyville, KY; and Sharon (Shari) Gaubert of Alpharetta, GA. TJ also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
TJ will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his deep loyalty to family and friends, and his enduring bond with his best friend, Will Barnard. He also leaves behind his cherished companion, Boots, his Maine Coon cat.
TJ will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in TJ's memory to Absolutely Positive +, Inc., in Roswell, GA, a cause that was close to his heart.
He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
