Timothy Popper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home - Terry from Oct. 16 to Oct. 20, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Timothy Patrick Popper was born November 11th, 1954, in Seattle, Washington, to Francis Popper and Eunice Popper. One of nine children, he and his siblings grew up moving between military bases and the towns surrounding them and learning to navigate life's many changes and challenges.

Throughout his early adulthood he lived many places, had many vocations, and got into and back out of many sticky situations, which contributed endless material to the detailed stories he loved to tell. He married Nisa Merritt in 1991, and they had two children, to whom he was a dedicated father. He loved taking his children to baseball games, teaching them to fix and build things, helping them to appreciate the simple pleasures of life, and showing them the beauty of nature and God's creations.

He founded and operated the Distributor's Press print shop before working for many years as a foreman at WR Grace in Curtis Bay, MD. After retirement he moved to and lived in Terry, MT and was an active member of the Sacred Heart Parish. He enjoyed ranching, woodworking, doing housework while listening to music, discussing politics and history, fishing, hunting, hiking, reading and bemoaning the Baltimore Orioles games he listened to on the radio.

In his later years Eastern Montana and the people and land therein brought him great peace and happiness.

He passed into God's kingdom on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at the age of 70 while out hunting, with his boots on his feet, sun on his face, and rifle in hand as he would've wanted. At the time of his passing, he was over 40 years sober.

He is survived by his two children, Kellen Popper and Devin Popper, his siblings Mike (Ann) Popper, Kathy Popper, Chris (Denise) Popper, Terry Grace, Kelly (Mike) Barry, Pam Rosen and his fiancée Pamela Higgins.

He leaves behind a legacy of standing firmly for his beliefs, helping those who couldn't help themselves and above all constantly striving to do what was right.
