Lodain (Dee) Hilda Jaques, age 85, of Terry passed away August 12, 2025 at the Prairie Community Nursing Home in Terry.

Dee was born to Howard and Leona Canning in Grand Island, Nebraska on December 1, 1939. She was a twin. She had four siblings, Lonnie which was her twin, Jerry, Lorna & Jain. The family moved to Nampa, Idaho where she lived before moving to Montana. Dee had four children, Shawnell, Jeff, Toni and Shanda, four granddaughters and eight great grandchildren.

She worked many jobs along the way. She would tell stories of debeaking chickens at a factory to make money to go to the movies. Dee worked in food service as a waitress for years in Glendive at Bairs Café, Trail Star, then becoming a cook at Doc & Eddies. She retired from Doc & Eddies in Billings, Montana in the 90's.

She lived in different places throughout her life. She ended up living in Terry, Montana. Dee loved all kinds of animals and enjoyed playing cards especially pinochle. She was always up for a game. She liked doing crafts, eating out and her favorite thing to do was going fishing. She was usually the first to catch a fish and rub it in. Her favorite foods were shrimp, tacos and watermelon. She also had many friends she would go have coffee with and visit.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Leona Canning, Lonnie Canning her twin brother and other family members.

There will be a celebration of life sometime in September. Shanda would like to thank the Prairie County Hospital and Nursing Home for the care they gave her and all the staff where Dee lived and passed away. Rita a friend who took Dee shopping, to church and to senior citizens lunches also was there for Dee and Shanda for her final hours of life.
