Timothy William "Tim" Rys

Timothy "Tim" William Rys, of Hingham, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2025. He was born on June 13, 1960, and grew up in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Tim was a devoted partner, father, son, and brother. He was a talented and sought-after contractor, known for his expertise in historical restoration and custom work. He especially loved the artistry of finish carpentry, which demands exceptional precision and skill. His craftsmanship touched many homes and hearts. He enjoyed making one-of-a-kind pieces - each made with care and tailored to the person receiving it. He was also known for his quick wit and thoughtful perspective, often blending humor with moments of quiet wisdom. In his free time, Tim enjoyed playing guitar, sailing and spending time with his family.
Tim's spirit lives in those he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving partner and soulmate of 30 years, Shari Hart of Hingham, Massachusetts and their daughter Sydney Rys of Hull, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Mary Rys of Ludlow, Massachusetts. He will be deeply missed by his three sisters, Kathryn Whyte and her husband David of Central Point, Oregon, Debra Gora of Shutesbury, Massachusetts, and Lisa Moriarty and her husband Daniel of Belchertown, Massachusetts, as well as his three brothers, Richard Rys and his wife Claudia of Princeton, Massachusetts, Michael Rys and his wife Judy of Goleta, California, and Jeffrey Rys and his wife Pam of Ludlow, Massachusetts. He was the proud uncle to four nieces and eight nephews, and cherished time spent with his extended family. Always loved, never forgotten.
