Timothy Aaron Sides, 71, of Oakboro, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Mr. Sides was born September 13, 1951, in North Carolina to the late Julius Clyde Sides and Charlotte Colleen Parker Sides.
He is proceeded in death by his nephew, Mark Brandon Allen.
The Graveside Service will be on Friday at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Locust, officiated by Pastor Brian Bolding.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Teressa Eudy Sides of the home; daughter, Candace Sides of Locust; son, Dustin (Kristen ) Sides; grandsons, Maksen and Jett Sides of Locust; brother, Clyde Edwin (Donna) Sides; and sisters, Janice (Gary ) Greene and Debbie (Randy) Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Cooper.
Tim worked for Eudy’s Cabinet Mfg. for twenty years building custom cabinets and furniture. In addition, he enjoyed working special events for Charlotte Motor Speedway for twenty years. His favorite events were race week and the auto fair.
Tim was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Locust. He served as an assistant youth leader and Sunday school director for many years. The youth lovingly called him “Grouch”. To this day, many still refer to him by that cherished nick name. Tim loved helping cook Wednesday night meals and Men’s breakfast.
Tim’s greatest joys were cooking, baking and camping at the beach with his family. His ultimate joy was being “PawPaw” to Maksen and Jett.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Stanly & The Uwharrie for their compassionate care.
