Timothy John Summa, age 74, passed away September 1, 2025 after a sudden illness. Tim was proceeded in death by his mother Thelma, father Joe, brother Henry and sister Jane. He is survived by his sister Kathy of San Antonio, his sister Margaret of Bastrop and brother Stephan of North Carolina. Tim travelled widely in his youth but settled in San Antonio becoming an enthusiastic booster. At his passing he was the owner of South Mission photography, a non-profit that emphasized education and development of the photographic arts. He began his career as a photographer working for MD Anderson Cancer Center Cancer Hospital in Houston. Tim spent a few years working for the University of Texas San Antonio before becoming the director of photography and video department at The Southwest Craft Center a non-profit in San Antonio. He was also official photographer of the Texas sesquicentennial celebration. Tim most appreciated teaching both amateur and advanced photography. He generously gave to family and friends his entire life and is remembered for his kindness and gentleness despite his 6'8" heavy frame. He was a truly gentle giant.
