Timothy Earl Thompson, 69, a resident of Biloxi, MS, passed away, on September 12, 2024, in Gulfport, MS. He was born in Crystal Springs, MS; on April 25, 1955, the Son of the late Carey Lee Thompson and the late Charlene Thompson. He was reared by his loving grandparents, the late Mr. Brady and Lula Thompson.
Timothy graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1973 and attended Hinds Community College in Utica, MS receiving his associate’s degree in 1975. Timothy went on to Jackson State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1977 and a Master’s in special education in 1978. Timothy also received a 2nd Master’s in early childhood education from Grand Valley State University in 1985.
Timothy spent over 15 years as a Teacher in the Michigan School System. Timothy was always a wonderful cook, and he loved cooking for his family and friends. Timothy worked and volunteered at colleges, rescue missions, and homeless shelters cooking and feeding the needy for many years before moving back home to Mississippi in 2006.
With his background in education and years of experience, Timothy was able to go back to his love for teaching and work as a Director at LauRetha’s daycare in Crystal Springs, MS from 2006-2008. Timothy moved to Biloxi, MS in 2010 to help care for his mother, along with his other sisters and brothers until her passing. Timothy fell sick an eventually was moved to an extended care facility until his death.
Tim was preceded in death by both of his parents; Carey Lee Thompson and Charlene Thompson; his grandparents Brady and Lula Thompson; 2 sisters: Georgia Ann Reid and Ruby Lee Thompson Woods; 2 brothers: Lonell Thompson and Herbert Thompson.
Tim is survived by one daughter, Jazmyn Taylor-Tubbs and 2 beautiful grandchildren; 7 brothers: Donald Bruce (Deborah) Thompson, of Biloxi, MS, Carlos (Treani) Thompson, of Gulfport, MS; Craig Thompson of Tacoma WA; Micheal Funchess, Cary MaGee, and Clifton Johnson, of Crystal Springs, MS; Ray (Brenda) Anderson of San Antonio, TX. 9 sisters: Linda (Eddie) Collins of Jackson MS; Lavern Thompson, Cheryl Terest Thompson of Biloxi MS; Linda Faye Ellis of Jackson MS; Sheryl Stewart, Patricia Guynes, Margaret Funchess, Lashunda Moore, and LauRetha (J.W.) Hall of Crystal Springs, MS, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Timothy Thompson will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2 pm at Main Street Missionary Baptist Church.
