Timothy Wayne Van Matre Obituary
In addition to his beloved wife, Tim is survived by his children, Kristi (James) Loss, Jason (Rindy) Van Matre, and Shad Van Matre; and grandchildren, Seth (Lanie) Cox, Kaleb Cox, Rance Cummings, Rylan Van Matre, Jayda Van Matre, Aiden Loss, and Alexa Loss.
Tim is also survived by his mother, Frances Fields; brothers, Jim (Connie) Van Matre, Mark Van Matre, and David (Tyra) Fields; brothers-in-law, Mike (Leona) Johnson and Alan (Patty) Johnson; sisters-in-law, Teresa (Eric) Woodside and Lynnette (Jamie) Bain; and several nieces and nephews.
Tim and his wife owned and operated Custom Auto Interiors for 40 years. He was able to bring ideas to life through his experience and creativity. He enjoyed years of bowling and golfing with his friends and family and was an avid music lover. Tim was a member at Southside Baptist Church. He will be missed very dearly by those who loved him. In his own words..."Later".
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Fred Van Matre; stepfather, Cletus Fields; sister, Kathy Miller; and parents-in-law, Charles and Mary Ellen Johnson.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jerry Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Timothy's honor to Southside Baptist Church.
