Toni Deshazo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sanders Funeral Home - Lubbock on Dec. 19, 2025.
It is with absolutely broken hearts that we want to let our family and friends know that Mom, Nana, Toni DeShazo, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday December 16, 2025.

Memorial services will be at 2:00PM Monday December 22, 2025, at her home church The Heights Fellowship, 6108 66th Street, Lubbock, Texas with Pastor Mike Martindale.

Tina Lavonia Fisher DeShazo, 90, was born January 9, 1935 in Childress, Texas to Tom and Bessie Fisher. She graduated from Childress High School and married James Rockne DeShazo.

Toni worked for the Texas Highway Department. She retired after 36 years on September 30, 1993.

Mom had been ill the last few months & walked through it the same way she lived all her life - with profound grace, strenghth, humility, and faith that never faltered.

She found joy in the simple things & really enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels outside her bedroom window. She also loved to laugh, finding humor every time she could even in the vulnerable position that she found herself - some of the best laughs and memories we will hold onto. She let us know at every opportunity how much she loved & appreciated us.

Anyone who ever met her knew how special she was. She opened her home and her arms for anyone who needed refuge or a full belly. Her presence made everything softer, calmer, and more beautiful. Even greater than the sadness we feel is the gratefulness we have, that God gave her to us for the time we had her, for the example she lived out in front of us, and for her truly unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son James Todd DeShazo, and her brother Charlie T. "Tommy" Fisher.

Survivors include her children; Kathy and Todd Brady, Christy and Kelly Vinson. Grandchildren; Ashleigh and Elena Leon, Crystal and Kody Seidel, Steven and Laura Warren, Nichole Brady, JT DeShazo and Audrey Stark, Joshua and Abigail DeShazo and 10 cherished great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to The Heights Fellowship, 6108 66th Street, Lubbock, Texas, 79424.
