Tina McFadden

Ms. Tina Michelle Moore McFadden, age 56, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.
Tina was born on Monday, September 2, 1968, to Mr. Tom and Mrs. Marge Johnson.
Tina was truly a one-of-a-kind individual; to quote her mother, she was 'a horse of a different color.' Everyone knew and loved Tina for her free spirit. Likewise, Tina never met a stranger, and she befriended everyone she ever met, treating everyone with respect and dignity.
She was a proud 1986 graduate of Northwest Whitfield High School, where she was extremely popular and well liked and was a member of the NWHS Homecoming Court. It was in high school – particularly, her 10th grade year when she, along with the rest of her German class, traveled to Germany, Austria, and Belgium – that she developed a love for learning about other people, traditions, cultures, and religions. She went on to study theology at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina.
Tina loved music, particularly '80s rock, and she loved going to live concerts whenever and wherever she could. Like a true lady of the 1980s, Tina was also well known and loved for her hair; those who knew and loved her would describe her as having some of the greatest and most memorable hairstyles of anyone that they ever knew.
Of all the things of which Tina was proud, she was most proud of her children, especially their ability to (like Tina) not be afraid to stand out, to be different, and to be their true authentic selves.
Tina is survived by her parents, Mr. Tom and Mrs. Marge Johnson; her children, Bronson Jones, Isley (Justin) McFadden Russ, and Jasmin McFadden; and the father of her children, Glenn McFadden.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Tina's life will be held on Sunday, September 22nd, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Bart Ponders and Reverend Dudley Meadows officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Northwest Whitfield High School class of 1986.
Tina's family will receive friends for visitation at Love Funeral Home on Sunday beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the service hour.
Tina will be laid to rest at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park on Tuesday, September 24th, at 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, Tina's family asks that donations be made in Tina's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis TN 38105) or to one's favorite charity.
