Mrs. Tirzah Whetstone Free, 95, went home to be with Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Mrs. Tirzah is the widow of Dewey Edwin Free, Jr., they were married for sixty-four years until his passing in 2015. She is the mother of Anita (Charles) Shaylor, the late Leonard Edwin "Bubba" (Beverly) Free, William Dewey (Carole) Free, and Jerry (Sabrina) Free, the Granny of Linn (Laurie) Free, Chris (Jennifer) Shaylor, April (Terry) Boone, Wesley (Meghan) Free, Tracy (Ty) Woodard, Keri (David) Quinn, Jeramy (Liesl) Free, and Austin (Rebekah) Free, and the great Granny of Lee Allen Shaylor, Abby Boone, Logan Free, Cole Quinn, Jackson (Paige) Shaylor, Laney Free, Caroline Boone, Kylie Quinn, Katlyn Quinn, Tatum Woodard, Tanner Boone, Jack Free, Tobin Woodard, Tyson Woodard, Judson Free, Drake Free, Lewis Free, Penelope Free, and Blaise Free. She is the aunt of Dell Walling Klinicki and Cathy Walling Foster.

Tirzah was born on August 31, 1930, to the late Leonard Whetstone and the late Cora Lee Cook Whetstone. She is also preceded in death by her sister and brother in-law Ina (Jack) Walling.

Mrs. Tirzah was a life-long member of Clinton Methodist Church where she faithfully served. The pillar of her family, Tirzah knew the importance of family history and passing that on to the next generations. A simple woman who always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, and sewing, all ways she provided for her family. Her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tirzah's honor to Clinton Methodist Church.

Funeral Service will be 3 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Clinton Methodist Church. Viewing will be 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside in the church fellowship hall. Rev. Fred Andrea will be officiating.
