Nguyen Van Toan, 64, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on January 8, 2025. He was born on October 1, 1960, in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, to Nguyen Thi Hanh and Nguyen Van Huy.
A man of deep faith, Nguyen Van Toan built his life on his unwavering trust in God. His devotion was evident in everything he did and served as a guiding light for his family and those who knew him.
He was a hardworking and wise man, dedicated to providing for his family. For 42 years, he shared a life of love and partnership with his wife, Dao Lang, whom he cherished deeply. Together, they built a strong and loving home, raising their children with values of hard work, humility, and faith.
Nguyen Van Toan worked as a table games dealer at L'Auberge Casino, where he was admired and loved by his colleagues for his kind and humble nature. His calm wisdom and presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A devoted father, he taught his children not only the practicalities of life but also the importance of integrity and perseverance. He was always prepared, particularly when it came to the challenges of living in Louisiana. He loved following the news and weather, ensuring his family was ready for the next hurricane or storm.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dao Lang, and their children: Nguyen Sonny, Nguyen Van, Nguyen Phong, and Nguyen Hai, Nguyen Minh, and their grandchildren Jaxson Nguyen, Noah Nguyen, and Elijah Nguyen.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lake Charles. Visitation will be open to the public on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, with a reading of the Rosary at 6:00 PM.
Nguyen Van Toan's legacy of faith, love, and hard work will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.
