Toby I. Sanchez born on July 31, 1941, to Jose and Antonia Sanchez in Shoemaker, New Mexico. He suddenly passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Northeastern Hospital in Las Vegas, New Mexico surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Antonio Sanchez, siblings, Albert Domingez, Joseph Sanchez, Bessie Madrid, and in-laws, Mike and Eduvijen Vallejos, Bartolo, Albert and Felimon Vallejos.
He survived his loving wife, Irene of sixty-two years of Watrous, New Mexico, Tobias Sanchez (Bernice) of Watrous, New Mexico Caroline Sanchez (Hazel) of Albuquerque, New Mexico and David Sanchez of Aurora, Colorado. Also, there are seven grandchildren: Desarae Armijo (DannyRay), Jennie Guilez (Adrain), Esperanza Sanchez (Phillip), Jovial and Sarah Sanchez, Landyn and Malaya Sanchez and seven great grandchildren: Saige, Kane, Drayden, Danisha, Jade, Winter, Toby, Moses and Sophia. There are seven siblings: Ernestine Sanchez, Pablo Sanchez (Angela), Julia Roy, Gilbert Sanchez, Priscilla Archuleta, Geraldine Martinez (Mark) and Donald Sanchez (Irma). Also, he survives numerous godchildren, nieces and nephews’, other family members and friends.
Toby served in the Army from 1960 to 1962 where he medaled in Marksman (Riffle), 2ND Class Gunner and Good Conduct Medal. He was known by many for his willingness to help others and his generosity to give back to his community. He demonstrated gentleness and kindness to all. Most of all Toby was committed and loyal husband and father to his wife and children. He was a avid fisherman, hunter and a jack of traits.
