Todd James Huston, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on September 4, 2024. He is survived by sons, Eric and Sean; sister, Victoria (John); brother, Greg (Jennifer); niece, Lily (Quin); stepmother, Patricia; as well as an aunt and many cousins.
Todd spent most of his career in leadership roles with Black & Decker, Sherwin-Williams and Rubbermaid Commercial Products. He was also a U.S. patent holder and entrepreneur. He relocated to the Atlanta area in 2020.
Todd was born March 10, 1966, in Columbus, Ohio, to Betsy Boehm Huston and Neil J. Huston, who predeceased him.
He graduated from Pascack Valley High School in Hillsdale, New Jersey, in 1984, and the University of Toledo in 1990.
Todd was a music lover who named his firstborn after Eric Clapton, one of his early musical heroes.
His musical tastes were influenced by blues and blues rock guitarists ranging from Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimmy Page to Steve Cropper and Derek Trucks. He was an enthusiastic concert, festival and club goer as well as an avid guitar collector and amateur guitarist.
A lifelong dog lover, Todd also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, cooking, golf and American history.
He lived many places during his life including Baltimore, Northern Virginia, Northern New Jersey, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Memphis. His sports team affiliations reflected this: He rooted for the Baltimore Ravens, the New York Giants, the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Capitals.
Todd was spirited, irreverent, fun loving, hard working and always up for adventure.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted father, brother, son and friend.
A service to celebrate Todd’s life will take place October 12, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Poole Funeral Home, 1970 Eagle Drive, Woodstock, Georgia 30189. Friends may visit beginning at 2:00 p.m.
He will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio, final resting place of his parents and numerous family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue.
