Todd Edward Kimpson was born August 1, 1972 in Creston, Iowa, the son of James Edward and Shirley Arlene (VanPelt) Kimpson. He was educated in the Corning Public Schools and graduated from Corning High School with the Class of 1990. Following graduation, Todd was united in marriage to Lynn Marie Fuller in November of 1990 in Lenox, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with 3 daughters: Kandice Paige in 1990, Kayla Lynn in 1993 and Kynlee Dale in 2006. The couple later divorced.
Growing up, Todd was his dad’s shadow around the farm. You could always find him in the machine shed, in a tractor or just about anything that moved. He began driving the farm machinery by the age of 10 and could run just about anything. Todd was especially fond of the cattle herd and ended up with a herd of his own in recent years, which was a dream for him. During his high school years, he took time away from helping his dad to pursue Wrestling and placed at the State Wrestling Tournament 2 different years.
In 2019, Todd began a relationship with Debbie Loudon and together they were a team. She would help Todd tend to the cattle herd each and every day as well as the other farm chores. Todd would also help Debbie at the Lakeside Supplies store whenever his help was needed. Todd’s passion in life was definitely the love for his cows. Todd and Debbie even had 2 pet cows, Maggie Moo and Lennie; along with 7 dogs and 3 cats.
Everyone who knew Todd knew he had his demons but he would always show up to help others. He loved listening to Rock music and old Country music, often listening with the volume turned way up. Todd was also a very good cook and enjoyed grilling his favorite meats. He loved to spend time outside splitting wood for his wood burning stove. Todd was an avid lover of all animals, from all his dogs, cats and cows. He has even been known to go to the shelter and take a new friend home. Todd was a very hard worker and played even harder.
Todd was preceded in death by his father, Jim; his mother, Shirley; his brother-in-law, Kirk; and his grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Kandice (Tyler) Schouten of Bedford, Iowa; Kayla (Aaron)DenHartog of Norwalk, Iowa; and Kynlee Kimpson of Gravity, Iowa; his 4 grandchildren: Ryott, Rebel and Royale Schouten; and Olive DenHartog; his sister, Lori Goldsmith of Creston; along with nephews, Justin (Andrea) Goldsmith of West Des Moines, Iowa and Kaleb (Bailey) Goldsmith of Creston, Iowa; and his significant other, Debbie Loudon of Corning, Iowa.
