Todd Smothermon Obituary

Todd Adam Smothermon

Feb. 26, 1970

June 10, 2024

Todd Adam Smothermon passed away peacefully at the Stanford Medical Center from complications of congestive heart failure on June 10, 2024. He was surrounded by his wife of 32 year, his four children, and his eldest grandson. Born on February 26, 1970, in Porterville, Todd spent his entire life in the town he cherished, building a legacy of hard work. He met his future wife, Mary, at the Rocky Hill Speedway in Porterville, and they were married on August 24, 1991. She stood by his side through thick and thin, and together they raised four wonderful children: Jane, Frances, Benjamin, and Claire, who were the light of his life. He was also the proud grandfather of three grandchildren: Arian, Maia, and Cecil.

Todd had an unbridled passion for fixing anything and everything, with cars holding a special place in his heart. He loved to immerse himself in the music he felt so passionately about and attended concerts whenever he could. Classic rock music was the soundtrack of his life, providing a rhythm to his days and a melody to his most cherished memories. Known for his generosity, Todd freely gave his time and resources, always ready to help those in need.

As the owner of a generational milk delivery business, Todd was a familiar and friendly face in the community. His tireless work ethic and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Todd is survived by his mother Julie, his sister Shelby Pritchett, and his brother Jeff Smothermon. His family was his greatest pride, and his legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire them.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Porterville Cemetery, located at 1013 E Olive Ave, Porterville, CA 93257.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, P.O. Box 45740, Baltimore, MD 21297-5740, an organization close to Todd's heart.

Todd was a very sweet and kind friend, took me to prom and was the perfect gentleman. And another time he saved me from a horrible date I was on when we ended up at the same party. I'm heartbroken for Mary, and Rusty and I have her and her family in our thoughts and prayers.
