Thomas “Tom” Oren Meeker, age 90, passed away February 26, 2024, at his home in Santaquin, Utah. Tom was born August 14, 1933, to Lee and Marie Pettit Meeker in Pryor, Oklahoma. Tom married Virginia "Jean" Bankston on April 21, 1958, in El Dorado, Kansas. Together they had four children; 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Tom worked as a boiler maker for Gatx Storage Tanks and built tanks all over the United States. Tom loved dancing, fishing, and boating. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed going with his children and grandchildren. He liked spending time up Spanish Fork canyon at the cabin that he built. For 15 years, Tom and Jean enjoyed their winters at Emerald Cove on the Colorado River.
Tom is survived by his wife Jean; daughters Tammy Meeker and Sharon Johnson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Audrey Kay Littlefield, and Patsy Steward, and brothers Donald, Stanley and Johnny Meeker.
Graveside services will be held Friday March 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East.
