Tomas Uribe passed peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy shaped by hard work, unwavering faith, and a commitment to both family and country.
Tomas dedicated most of his professional life to the oilfield industry, working with various companies throughout Texas. He was not only known for his skilled expertise in this field, but also for his remarkable talent as a self-made mechanic. His ability to repair any part of his vehicles was a testament to his resourcefulness and hands-on approach to life.
His education began at the Agua Dulce Independent School District where he graduated as a proud member of the Longhorn Class of 1963. During his school years, he was a spirited athlete who played fullback for the Longhorn football team, proudly wearing Jersey #44.
Tomas exhibited the old-fashioned values of honesty, respect, obedience, and hard work and a strong sense of faith. He was a man of few words, often found quietly attending to the needs of his family. Those who knew him fondly remember his strong faith, which carried him through the trials of his service in the Vietnam War. Enlisting in the United States Army on September 27, 1966, Tomas served with valor and was awarded several honors; including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge. After completing his two-year term, he continued his dedication to service in the reserves until September, 1972.
Tomas was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and took great comfort in his faith. In his leisure time he enjoyed watching old television shows, particularly "Rawhide" starring Clint Eastwood or the El Gorda y La Flaca talk show. He never missed a game of his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. His love for music was evident as well, particularly in his enjoyment of Corridos, which he would occasionally sing along to on the radio.
Tomas is survived by his loving siblings, Ernestina Uribe, Guillermo "Willie" Uribe, Felipe (Lydia V.) Uribe, and Maria (Joe) Palacios, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish his memory for years to come.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norberto and Luz Uribe, as well as his siblings, Jose Uribe, Leonardo Uribe, Enrique (Maria) Uribe, Infante Gregorio Uribe, Infante Rosalinda Uribe, and Julia Uribe.
Tomas Uribe will be remembered as a quite man whose actions spoke louder then words. His presence will be profoundly missed by all, but especially by his sister Maria, who cared for him for fifteen years.
