Tomasita Ximenez Gongora, 77, of San Antonio, Texas, left us peacefully on December 27, 2024, surrounded by family. A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Tomasita, or "Tommie," will always be remembered for her love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Born on November 26, 1947, in San Antonio, TX, Tommie grew up the only daughter of Benigno and Trinidad Ximenez and sister to three brothers: Alfredo (deceased), Benigno, and Victor.
Tommie is survived by her partner Nicolas "Nick" De Los Santos, her only son, Frank Treviño II (Rosa), as well as her grandchildren, Krystal Treviño Carr (Jacob), and Francisco "Franky" Xavier Treviño. Tommie also has two great-grandchildren, Mia Lane and Wyatt, whom she adored.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benigno A. Ximenez and Trinidad F. Ximenez.
Tommie attended Burbank High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1966. She later went on to work at Broadway Bank where she retired after 25 years. After retirement, she went on to work at the Nix Hospital, where she worked for over 10 years.
She loved to barbecue, listen to music, and travel. Most of all she loved to keep in touch with her friends and family and called a few in particular on a daily basis, and even multiple times a day! Once she learned how to use Facetime, she became a frequent user with a select few.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. with Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. at Castillo Funeral Home located at 520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, TX 78228. A service to celebrate Tommie's life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Blessed Sacrament located at 600 Oblate Dr., San Antonio, TX 78216, with a procession to depart the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery located at 2015 3rd St., Floresville, TX 78114. Tommie was my cousin & she use to stay with us at the Ranch on the other side of Pleasanton Tx. I have lots of memories of her; she was especially close to my sister Angie. She loved to ride in my Dad´s old truck (her Uncle Estevan) & drive thru those wide open fields with all the bumps & dips...being jostled & tossed around! She thought it was so fun & funny and I can her her giggle & laughing. She was a good person, a happy girl & always had a smile on her face. Rest& be joyous in Heaven!
