Tommie Jones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Medina on Dec. 29, 2025.
Tommie G. Jones, age 74, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 20, 1951, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, to the late Henry "Bus" Jones and Irene Jones.

Tommie is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Joyce Jones, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and partnership. He was a proud and loving father to Brian Jones and wife Amy, Landon Jones and wife Monica, and Deena Doran and husband Mike.

He was a devoted Papa to Morgan Jones and wife Shelbi, Ben Jones and fiancée Bailey, Ally Glidewell and husband Brant, Luke Jones, Matthew Jones, Taylor Saunders and husband Tygue, Kendall Doran, and Ashtyn Doran. Tommie was also blessed with great-grandchildren Brady, Harvey, and Elliot, whom he absolutely adored.

He is survived by his sister, Lawana Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry "Bus" and Irene Jones, and by his siblings Larry Wayne Jones, Darcel Jones, Terry Jones, and Kathy Hart.

Tommie was the heart of his family. He loved deeply and generously, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He took immense pride in each of them and delighted in celebrating their lives and accomplishments.

An avid golfer, Tommie found great joy on the golf course and was known as an exceptional golfer who played with both skill and sportsmanship.

Above all, Tommie loved the Lord and lived his faith daily through kindness and generosity. He was the most giving man his family knew-always ready to help, always thinking of others. His legacy of faith, love, and compassion will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Waite Funeral Home in Medina, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
