Tommie Lee Sherman Jr, 55, of New Waverly Texas passed away on October 30, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. Tommie also known as "Tom-T" or "Big T" was born on Aug 28, 1970 to Doris Nelson (Dempsey) and Tommie Sherman Sr. in the city of Allegan, Michigan.
Tommie had a career in the Refractory industry spanning 30 plus years. Tommie had a mastered skill in operating a fork lift, he was the best of the best. Tommie loved his job and enjoyed giving fellow co-workers a hard time when working in the toolroom.
Tommie was a family man. There was nothing he loved more than spending time with his family. He and his family enjoyed family dinners, movie nights, game nights, fishing, hunting, camping, poker and just spending time together. Tommie was an amazing Pawpaw to his grandchildren with plenty of sleepovers, cooking lessons and softball coaching; they kept him very busy. Tommie loved being a dad. He was a jokester, mentor, friend and a shoulder to cry on. He loved taking special little trips to Mexico with Kourtney and eating Pho at their special spot. He had the time of his life coaching softball together with Kimberlee and spending nearly everyday together with her, Shawnee, Ainsley and Kaila. He was a proud dad teaching Beatrice how to fish and loving his first granddaughter Jazmin, followed by Jaylnn and first grandson Manny. He loved hanging out with Haley and his granddaughters Brilynn and Olivya.
Tommie strengthened his love for Jesus while taking his grandchildren to church. He assured us all he was going to a better place in Heaven to be with Jesus.
Tommie was preceded in death by his grandparents Vera Ruth and Ray Stewart, Mother Doris Nelson, Father Tommie Sherman and Uncle Wayne Dempsey.
Tommie is survived by his children Beatrice, Kimberlee (David), Kourtney and Haley; his grandchildren Jazmin, Jaylynn, Shawnee, Ainsley, Kaila, Ava, Brilynn, Olivya and Manny as well as the love of his life Sandie Sherman and only son Gizmo; Siblings Laurie (Jim) Atwood, Christina Pinkard, Carolyn Kelly, Ron (Sibyl) Nelson along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
