It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tommy Adams, age 92, of Independence, Kentucky, who departed this life on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Born on May 16, 1932, in Whitesburg, Kentucky, to Bill and Martha Adams (nee Reynolds), Tommy's life was characterized by his deep passions and faith.
Known fondly as "Tackle Tom," he was a dedicated fisherman at heart, often found fixing up and reselling tackle and fishing supplies. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his enthusiasm for gathering with friends and family over a game of cards. An ordained minister, Tom had a strong commitment to his faith and cherished discussing biblical teachings. He was a devoted member of the West Chester Old Regular Baptist Church, where he made lasting connections throughout the years.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lola Mae Adams, as well as his father, Bill Adams; mother, Martha Adams; daughter, Patricia Ann Ashcraft; son, Johnny Ray Adams; sisters, Juanita Everidge and Ruth Sexton; and brothers, Jack Adams, John Adams, and Billy Adams.
He is survived by his daughter, Ramona Faulkner; sister, Jesse Watts; grandchildren Theresa (Kenny), Tommy (Tricia), Gary, Brenda, Debbie, Candy, Billy, Stephanie, Natasha, and Jacob; 21 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Receptions, and Funerals, located at 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, KY 41018. The funeral service will commence at 1:00 pm, followed by burial at Union Rice Cemetery.
We invite friends and family to share memories of Tom or leave special messages for his family in the guestbook below. His legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him.
