Opal Leah Wilson Adams, 92, of Bellevue, NE, passed away March 22, 2026.
She was born on March 30, 1933, in Osceola, MO, to Paul and Freda Wilson.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Robert Wilson (Doris), Joan Rustin (Gene), and James Wilson; and brother-in-law, Jerry Campbell.
Opal lived a full and adventurous life shaped by faith, family, and determination. After high school, she worked in Washington, D.C., for the FBI, later serving as a secretary with the U.S. Air Force's 10th Air Rescue unit in Alaska. As a military wife, she traveled widely before settling in Bellevue, which she called home for many years. In 1977, she married Lewis Adams, Sr., beginning a 48-year partnership centered on love, laughter, and shared devotion to family. She was known for her strong spirit, quick wit, and deep Christian faith, as well as her love of entertaining, gardening, and building lasting friendships.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Adams, Sr.; daughters, Lori Sather (Brian) and Lisa Street (Jeff); stepchildren, Lewis Adams, Jr. (Amy) and Natalie Adams; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
VISITATION: Wednesday, April 1, 2026, 5 to 7 p.m., Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, April 2, 2026, 10a.m., Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
INTERMENT: Omaha National Cemetery.
