Tommy Michael Bromagen, age 62, took his final walk in the woods early this morning, very likely as he would have wanted to do – running naked through the woods - as he often said. He had a way of brightening the day for others and would say "What a Wonderful World."
Tommy is survived by his three much loved sons, Luke Bromagen (Nictoria), Seth Bromagen, and Joe Bromagen; the granddaughters he worshipped, Sophie, Abby, Jolene, Harper, and Shaelynn, several cousins; the mother of his sons', Kim Collins; his loving friend, Jacky Watson, which he always called Jacky Smith, and a whole host of friends numbering too many to fit on this page.
Tom was a heavy equipment operator most recently working in Cartersville, Georgia where he often visited Altoona Lake. Tom had worked 15 years for N H Stone & Company and also had owned and operated his own fence building business. Wherever he went, he made lifelong friends due to his kindness, humor, humility, and appreciative nature. If you knew Tommy, you knew he always made work and life fun. He loved to pick on people but was kind in doing it. He loved to play jokes and was good at taking as good as he gave. Tommy had a great love of music, all genres, and his knowledge of songs and their singers was boundless. He had a great voice and could sing Amazing Grace as well as he could sing any Rolling Stones song. Tommy loved the outdoors and felt most at peace in the woods or fishing by a lake.
Tommy loved spending time camping, golfing, and going to Keeneland with his sons and granddaughters. He was proud of them and their accomplishments and talked often about them. He
loved Sharpsburg, and Florida, especially Hollywood Beach. He loved Star Trek, Quentin Tarantino movies, Ale 8's, caramel frappes, Reese's and candy canes. His favorite teams were any Kentucky team if they weren't playing UK and then it was UK; the Cincinnati Reds and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tommy will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends and the BCHS Class of 1979.
His Going Home Celebration will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
