Tommy Curtis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services - Jay on Mar. 6, 2026.
Tommy Joe Curtis, 65, passed away on February 25, 2026. Tom was born on March 18, 1960, in Grove, OK to Joe Curtis and Janet (Conduff) Curtis. He spent most of his life living in Grove, OK as well as traveling across the country for work.

Tom dedicated many years to the Pipeline Industry, working as an X-Ray Technician and Supervisor. His career took him across the United States, where he enjoyed traveling between job sites and home in his camper, often with his motorcycle along for the journey. He embraced life on the life and the experience it brought.

A lifelong passion of Tom's was working on and restoring cars. He spent countless hours in the garage alongside friends, family, and especially his son, Duncan. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing many of the cars he rebuilt, combining his love of mechanics with the thrill of competition. The time he spent building, repairing, and racing cars created lasting memories for those who worked beside him.

Tom is preceded in death by his father, Joe Curtis; his grandparents and one brother, Danny Curtis.

Tom is survived by his son, Duncan Curtis and wife Megan of Colcord, OK; granddaughter, Cedar Rae Curtis of Colcord, OK; his mother, Janet Curtis and stepfather Sam Taylor of Seneca, MO; his brothers, Kurt Curtis and Stanley Curtis both of Senca, MO. Tom also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends who will miss him dearly.

Tom's Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, 11:00am, March 14, 2026, at the Hart Baptist Church, 25 Hart Rd., Seneca, MO. Followed by refreshments until 1:00pm.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346 with Shaunda J. Lawson, 3rd Generation Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
