Tommy Lee Patterson, 57, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center, Anderson, SC.
He was born November 4, 1967, in Anderson, SC and was a son of the late Rufus Daniel Patterson and the late Doris Jean Fortner Patterson Taylor. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Patterson.
Tommy began his working career with Owens Corning Fiberglass and currently served as a rural mail carrier with the US Postal Service. He had a servant's spirit especially when it came to children. Tommy was tremendously involved with youth sports through Starr Athletics and the City of Anderson Recreation Center. He gave his heart and soul to developing, teaching and coaching young boys and girls. Not only regarding the sport, but life lessons as well. He loved the University of Tennessee Volunteers, cruising, the beach, arcade games, 70's Disco music, and most of all his family. His children and grandchildren were the passion and joy of his life.
He is survived by his spouse, Brenda Smith; his children, Justin Patterson, Ansleigh Patterson (Drake "RT"), Andrew Patterson (Zaylie) and Emilee Patterson; brothers, Danny Patterson (Sandra) and Shane Patterson; and grandchildren, Braylin, Emerie, Marley and Jaxin.
The family will gather with friends and family on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the McDougald Funeral Home from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Reverend Aaron Gibson will officiate. The burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
The family will be 439 Martin Road, Starr, SC.
