Tommy Sims

Tommy Sims, 86, of Ooltewah went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Born in Birmingham, AL on October 1, 1939, Tommy was a resident of Chattanooga for 35 years before moving to Sevierville, TN for 31 years and returned to Ooltewah in 2018.

Tommy accepted the Lord while at Terra Vista Baptist Church and sang with the Eleventh Hour Singers for many years.

Tommy was former owner and operator of STC Sports in Gatlinburg, TN and for 25 years was instrumental in organizing and promoting the Smokey Mountain Jubilee with Rev. T.D. Burgess, Rev. Ralph Sexton, and Rev. Zeno Gross.

He was a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church where he sang in the sanctuary choir.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Sims; 3 daughters, Teri Sims and Geri Sims, both of Roswell, GA and Angela (Tony) Bunch, Sevierville, TN; two grandchildren, Teagan (Kris) Knebuhler and Alexis (Mike) Glantz, all of Roswell, GA; four great-grandchildren, Rialyn and Karter Kneubuhler, Posie and Navy Glantz.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 12th at 4:00 PM at Maple Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Evans and Rev. Ronnie Dotson officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 13th at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Memory Gardens, West in Tiftonia.
