Tom Eugene Smith, 56, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on September 11, 1968, Tom lived a life filled with love, challenges, and resilience. Through all of life's ups and downs, he held tightly to the people he cared about most. He was a man of quiet strength and deep feeling, known for his sense of humor, his loyalty, and the love he gave so freely.
Tom was a self-proclaimed "Momma's boy, " and his bond with his mother, Lawanda Pegram, was a constant and cherished part of his life. Her unwavering support and love meant the world to him.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda Smith; his loving mother, Lawanda Pegram, and stepfather, Roy Pegram; his children, Summer Smith, Micki Smith, and Ryan Smith; his sisters, Kim Luster, Belinda Smith, Ciara Smith, Kinda Smith, and Cresta Smith; and his brothers, Mark Smith, David Smith, and Kenny Smith. Tom was also a proud grandfather to several grandchildren and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Tom will remember his big heart, his unforgettable laugh, and the way he could light up a room with his presence. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm.
