Toni Atkinson Inman Obituary

Published by Forest Lawn - Cypress on Dec. 21, 2020.
Toni Atkinson Inman, 85, born on March 16, 1935, in Los Angeles, CA, passed away December 21, 2020. She resided in Stanton, CA at the time of her passing. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother & great grandmother. Toni was a dedicated mother first and foremost. When asked what is her most treasured possession - she responded "my children". She provided for her five children by working at Kraft Foods in Buena Park for over 16 years, as a salad dressing filler operator. Her work ethic was unparalleled which she instilled in every one of her children. She was a terrific cook of both authentic Mexican food (tamales) and baked treats, especially Pineapple Upside Down cake. She was strong, loving, kind, honest, straight forward and funny! She enjoyed eclectic friendships, bowling, and occasional trips to Las Vegas. One of the things that brought her great joy was singing both traditional and untraditional lullaby's to her grand babies. She is survived by her sons Bill Atkinson, Daniel Atkinson, Jesse Atkinson and daughter Diana Imber; grandchildren Tonya, Sarah, Alex, Bradley, Jesse, Christian, Megan, Ashley; great grandchildren Olivia, Wayne (Bubba), Sofia, Victoria, Ethan, Cameron, Isaac & Natalie. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

GrandmaMa you are such a blessing and have left such a legacy. I remember you fondly, you always bring a smile to my face. You were never afraid to say it like it was and give such wisdom. I never doubted that you would always be on my side as you fiercely fight for me and what you thought was right. You will be dearly missed. I love you.

Grandma ma, you gave me my dimple chin, my adoration for cats and my strong love for olives! I remember a few years ago, we were in your kitchen helping with the tamales... you and I were singing along to “jingle bells” and you kept singing the wrong words and we couldn’t stop giggling. That memory still makes me smile so big. I miss you now but I look forward to seeing you again in heaven and sharing a jar of garlic stuffed olives. I love you!

I loved when you would talk about your younger days with your sisters and the fun you would have. Your sisters were more than sisters, they were your best friends. Also enjoyed the holidays spent together, especially celebrating Thanksgiving at your home and the smell of cooking when you entered. Diana carries on the tradition today and Bill loves to make the green beans that you always served.
thank you for raising an amazing son ( Bill), who I am blessed to call my husband.

I have many memories of grandma having lived with her for some time with my mom growing up. And her watching me and my cousins (Christian and Megan) through the years while our parents were at work. She was passionate in honing her role as a grandma and mother and instilled in us important life lessons and perspectives, ultimately leading us to the hard-working and loving individuals we are today. She was my only grandma, but, really, she is also the only grandma I ever needed. I love you grandma, I will see you one day in heaven. Love, Ashley
